A Brief History of Jimmy Ryan & Cat Stevens

A note of history - Cat Stevens asked me to join his band on the world tour promoting the Buddha album, early 70s.  I had been in England recording, then flew to Rome to do an album with Matthew Fisher from Procol Harum.  By the time I got back to New York, I was completely fried….. I turned him down - not forever, but just for that tour as I was just too tired and wanted to hang with my girlfriend and family.  Never heard from him again!  I think he wasn’t too happy about it, and I’m guessing that was a first for him.  In retrospect I wish I hadn’t, but oh well….

Check out this beautiful picture from our weekend with Grand Rapids Symphony, under the direction of Maestro John Varineau on July 19 and July 20.
Over 7,000 of our great fans came out to watch the Saturday show, and the Director of Symphony said these two shows were “The best concerts since the Picnic at Pops series began.”
Everybody was standing up and dancing along with us, and were still hollering long after the encore! Thanks to Grand Rapids Symphony for an amazing two nights, and big ups to everybody who came and supported us!

After each show, we have a meet and greet, and provide the opportunity to shoot the breeze with our great fans and sign CD’s for them. Here’s some of our fans who posted their pictures on our Facebook wall. Check out The Hit Men on Facebook, and post your own pictures!
